Crown Royal Monarch is a Canadian blended whisky released in 2014 to mark 75 years since the brand was created in 1939 at the Waterloo Distillery in Manitoba, for the royal visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Canada.
Master Blender Andrew MacKay selected 75 whiskies from the Crown Royal reserve and blended them for this anniversary edition. It is bottled at 40% in a 750ml faceted decanter that echoes the Crown Royal crown shape.
The nose brings rich vanilla, honeyed orchard fruit and toasted oak with soft baking spice. The palate is silky, with vanilla, caramel, baked apple and honey, and the finish is long and gently warming, ending on dried stone fruit.
