Cù Bòcan Creation 2 is a lightly peated Highland single malt from Tomatin Distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. Cù Bòcan is distilled only in the winter and made in small quantities.
For this edition the whisky was finished in Japanese Shochu casks, a first for Scotch, and then in European virgin oak. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose combines incense, baked pear, green apple and sweet barley with gentle peat smoke. On the palate come honeyed rice cake, lemon zest and nougat, with soft wood tannins. The finish is long and clean, with lemongrass, white pepper and a trace of peat.
