Cú Dhub is a Scottish blended malt whose name means Black Dog in Gaelic. This is Batch No 1, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV.
It is matured in ex-bourbon barrels and specially charred oak casks, which give it a dark colour that comes from the cask charring.
The nose has dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, a little peat smoke and blackberry. The palate is velvety, with dark treacle, liquorice, toasted oak and baking spices. The finish is long and warming, with espresso, dark caramel and a gentle smokiness that fades slowly.
