Dailuaine – 12 Year Old Vintage 2013 First Fill Oloroso Sherry Hogshead The Old Friends (50.8%)

This is a 12 year old Dailuaine, a Speyside single malt bottled by The Old Friends, a German series of independent Scotch bottlings. It was distilled in October 2013 and bottled in October 2025 at a cask strength of 50.8%. The whisky comes from a single first fill Oloroso sherry hogshead, which gave 289 bottles. The cask held it for the whole of its maturation. The nose is warm malt, liquid honey, ripe apples and caramel. On the palate, sherry and dark raisin sweetness sit with velvety caramel and malt. The finish stays long, starting with sweet sherry and raisins before fine woody spice comes through.
