This is a 12 year old Dailuaine single malt from Murray McDavid's Benchmark series, distilled in 2009. It matured in four bourbon hogsheads, then spent 14 months in first fill Sauternes casks. Only 1357 bottles were filled.
The nose is delicately floral, with honey, buttery malt and a touch of yoghurt. The palate is fairly oily, with tropical fruit and fresh citrus. The finish repeats the citrus, adding a pleasing honey sweetness and gentle oak spice.
