This is a 14 year old Dailuaine from Speyside, bottled by James Eadie from cask 361937 in a 70cl bottle at 48.1% ABV.
It was distilled in 2009 and finished for 34 months in a first fill Malaga butt made from European oak, then bottled in 2024. The edition runs to 369 bottles, at cask strength, without chill-filtration or added colouring. The Malaga finish here is not purely sweet and fruity: the character is nutty, earthy, oily and bitter-spicy.
The nose shows damp earth, mild mustard and green walnuts. On the palate come mustard, walnuts, truffle oil and a hint of tobacco. The finish is long and pleasantly bitter, with candied lemon.
