This Old Particular bottling from Douglas Laing is a 21 year old Speyside single malt from Dailuaine, distilled in 1998. It was drawn from a single refill hogshead, which gave 301 bottles at 51.5% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. Dailuaine is rarely seen as a single malt, as most of its spirit goes into blends. The distillery was built in 1851 by William Mackenzie and rebuilt in 1884, when it gained the first pagoda on a kiln in Scotland. The tasting notes mention damp oak, ripe red fruits, chocolate buttons, cinnamon, vanilla cream and strawberry conserve, with mocha and sweet barley in the aftertaste.
