Dalmunach – 2016-2021 4 Year Old Duncan Taylor Octave Single Cask 10825848 (70cl, 54.5%)

This is a single cask Dalmunach from Speyside, distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2021 at four years old by Duncan Taylor. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 54.5% and belongs to the bottler's Octave range, in which whisky is moved into small octave casks recoopered from sherry butts. This octave was a second fill that had earlier held peated Staoisha spirit from Bunnahabhain. Six months in it gave the whisky a slightly smoky edge. Just 75 bottles came from the cask. The tasting notes mention soft sherry, mochaccino coffee, sweet peat smoke and gentle, nutty spice.
