Dalmunach – 2016/2026 10 Year Old Koval Rye Cask (Murray McDavid) (70cl, 57.6%)

This is a 10 year old Dalmunach from Speyside, distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2026 by Murray McDavid for its Benchmark series. It is bottled at 57.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour. The whisky spent almost four years finishing in 110-litre American oak casks from Koval in Chicago, which previously held rye whiskey. Four casks went into the bottling, which runs to 582 bottles. The nose combines buttery malt with toffee and sweet cereal. On the palate come fresh pastry, spicy apple and grassy notes. The finish leaves citrus oils, floral notes and sweet oak spice.
