Dalmunach – 9 Years Old 2017 Tri Carragh (70cl, 59.3%)

This is a nine-year-old Speyside single malt from Dalmunach, distilled in 2017 and bottled by Tri Carragh as a single cask at cask strength. It is 59.3% in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a first-fill sherry barrique and then spent 27 months in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry. The nose has red berries and maraschino cherries with fresh citrus and lemon meringue pie; a little water brings out strawberries, raspberries and vanilla. The palate offers red fruit, ripe cherries and juicy pear, with a warm, lightly spicy note and subtle tannins. The finish is medium to long, with fruit, cinnamon and clove.
