This Deanston 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt distilled in 2006. It spent its first nine and a half years in bourbon casks and its last two and a half in Fino sherry casks, the first time Fino has been used to mature Deanston spirit.
It was bottled at cask strength, 55%, in a release of 268 bottles in 70cl.
The nose brings floral malt, honey on toast, spiced orange and dried fruit. The palate has Christmas spices, peppery oak, chocolate-covered raisins and orange chocolate with honeycomb, and the finish carries spicy oak, sultana, dried cherry and a touch of caramel.
