Deanston – 15 Year Old Tequila Finish Limited Edition 2023

This is a 15 year old Deanston single malt, a limited edition from 2023. It was matured in bourbon hogsheads and then finished for two years in tequila casks. The casks came from the Altos region of Jalisco, the Mexican highlands, and had held reposado or anejo tequila four to five times before. The nose is fresh and fine, with ripe pineapple, creme brulee, mixed nuts and gentle oak. The palate is rich and dry, with caramelised agave, toasted almonds, baked apples with cream and warming spice. The finish is long, with more spice and a sweet touch of citrus.
