Deanston 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured fully in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, in the vaulted warehouse at the distillery.
The bourbon casks let the waxy character of the malt come through, giving the mouthfeel the distillery is known for.
The colour is lemon gold. The nose is aromatic, with balanced American oak, floral, malty and grassy notes, vanilla, honey, and hints of tobacco and nutmeg. The palate is sweet and spicy, with citrus, barley sugar, gingerbread, Manuka honey and white pepper. The finish is dry and spicy, with a warming, gingery, honeyed tail.
