Deanston – 2000/2022 21 Year Old Fino Finish (70cl, 50.9%)

This is a 21 year old Deanston, distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2022 at a cask strength of 50.9% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, and only 2,784 bottles were produced. The whisky matured in organic bourbon casks, then was finished in organic sherry casks, including hand-selected organic Fino casks. The bourbon wood gives a subtly waxy, citrus character and the Fino a floral lift. Raisins, sweet malt, shortbread and strawberry jam show on the nose. Espresso, chocolate cherries and oak-infused honey come on the palate, and the finish has candied fruit, cinnamon and chocolate creaminess.
