This is a 17 year old Highland single malt from Deanston, made from organically sourced barley. It spent 14 years in refill whisky casks before a finish in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, and it is bottled at natural colour and non-chill filtered.
The nose is sweet dried fruit, raisins and dates. On the palate come caramel and mouth-coating maple syrup, with mixed candied peel and sherry-soaked raisins. The finish is warming, long and syrupy.
