Deanston 40 Year Old is a Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle, made up of spirit from refill casks and oloroso butts. The refill casks were filled in 2007 and the oloroso casks in 2006. Only 480 bottles were released worldwide.
Deanston stands on the River Teith, in a village built around a cotton mill, and began producing whisky in 1966.
The nose combines rich honey and tropical fruit with oak, sweet malt, vanilla fudge and a delicate hint of dried fruit. The palate is mouth-filling and sweet, with heather honey, pear, apple and vanilla fudge. The finish is long, with sweet honey and fruit.
