Deanston Virgin Oak Cask Strength is a single malt from the certified organic Deanston distillery, bottled at 58.5% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and made with local barley.
The whisky first matured in bourbon casks and was then finished in American oak casks. The finish adds robust spice, citrus and orchard fruit to a waxy, honeyed malt.
The nose combines vanilla marshmallow, ripe banana and vanilla custard with honeycomb, white chocolate and apple and pear skin. The palate is creamy, with pepper, nutmeg and clove, then honey and banana pudding. The finish is medium, with lingering oak spice.
