Deanston – Virgin Oak Cask Strength Single Malt (58.5%)

This is a limited-edition Deanston single malt from the Highlands of Scotland, bottled at a cask strength of 58.5%. The distillery stands in Doune on the River Teith, in a converted 18th-century cotton mill that generates its own hydroelectric power. The whisky is a deep amber gold. The nose is intense, with wood spice, creamy custard, candied fruit, green apple and nutmeg. The palate has a waxy texture, with heather honey, butterscotch, toffee, cinnamon and oak spice. The finish is long, with citrus zest and lingering sweet spice.
