Deanston Virgin Oak is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky, finished in virgin oak casks and bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle. It is un-chill filtered and carries the name of Ian Macmillan, master distiller.
The nose shows intense virgin oak, lemon zest, barley sugar, fresh apple and nutmeg. The palate opens soft, sweet and waxy, with candied fruit, vanilla toffee, heather honey and a subtle spiciness underneath.
The finish is short to medium, leaving a lingering, lightly spiced aftertaste with echoes of pepper and malt.
