This is a 23-year-old blended malt Scotch whisky from a single butt of 2001 blended malt, released in the Decadent Drams series by Decadent Drinks. It is bottled at its natural cask strength of 45.1% in a 70cl bottle.
After its years in the butt, the whisky was finished for a further year in a refill butt that had previously held Ardbeg.
The nose is full of dark fruits, jam, earthiness, tobacco and toasted walnuts, with hints of medicine and a little peppery peat. The palate shows soft dark fruit, wood spice, gentle earthy smoke, camphor, juniper and sultana. The finish is medium in length, with lingering dark fruit and rancio.
