Deerstalker 12 Year Old is a single malt from Balmenach distillery at Cromdale in Speyside, bottled at 43%.
The Deerstalker range is made up of independent bottlings from the Scottish Highlands. The name was registered as a trademark in 1880 by J. G. Thompson, an Edinburgh wine and spirit merchant.
The nose is fruity and slightly tart, with vanilla and rock sugar. The palate is medium-bodied, starting a little tart before fresh fruit, light sweetness and hints of smoke arrive. The finish has depth, with vanilla, stewed fruit and mixed spice.
