Cask Type
First-fill Barolo barrique
A 17-year-old Speyside single malt from Scotch Universe, matured in a first-fill Barolo barrique from Piedmont. It was distilled in October 2008 and bottled in August 2026 at 54.9% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colour. The name follows the brand's cosmic coding system, which was originally meant to hint at origin and cask type. Scotch Universe was founded by Michel Reick in 2016. The cask is described as adding intense fruit and firm tannins. On the nose there are ripe berries, dark dried fruit and a light tobacco note, with soft vanilla and warm oak beneath.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
