A 16-year-old gently peated single malt from the independent bottler The Cask Wizard, bottled at 54.1%. The distillery is not named. The whisky was distilled in March 2010 and bottled in August 2026.
It matured mainly in an ex-bourbon cask before a finish in a fortified wine cask. The bourbon cask gives the base of vanilla and wood, and the fortified wine adds darker, stronger fruit and spice. The peat is subtle rather than dominant.
The nose is typically described as dark ripe fruit and fine spice with an earthy, slightly dirty note. The palate opens soft and velvety, with red-fruit sweetness and a light bready touch, before gaining power.
