DIS ONE Aries is an eight-year-old German single malt from a single cask, number 172, bottled by the distillery at 46% ABV in a 50cl bottle.
It was distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2026. The distillery makes its malt from malted barley and mineral-rich well water, and fills the new make at about 60% into hand-picked Bordeaux wine casks.
The nose combines red wine tannins, vanilla, orange zest, cinnamon and ginger. On the palate come red wine fruit, orange and spices, with oak moving from dry to sweeter alongside chocolate. The finish is long, marked by blood orange.
