Distilleria Giovi Acquavite di Fico d'India (50cl)

This is an acquavite made from prickly pear by Distilleria Giovi in Italy. It is distilled in old wood-fired copper stills, and the producer compares its energy to the prickly pear plants growing on the volcanic slopes of Etna. It is clear in the glass. Fruit leads the nose, followed by varietal, mineral and lightly spiced shades. The palate follows the nose, balanced and lasting.
