Domaine Mont Rose Rosé Côtes de Thongue (1.5L)

This is a rosé from Côtes de Thongue in Languedoc, in a 1.5 litre magnum. It is built on Grenache (65%) and Syrah (10%), which bring juice and fruit, with Cabernet Sauvignon adding concentration and structure. Each grape variety is vinified separately. A short skin maceration gives the pale rosé colour and a good extract of fruit and aroma, and the juice is then fermented cool, at 15 to 18°C, in steel tanks. The three wines are blended and rest on their lees in the same tanks for about three months. The colour is a bright reddish pink. Raspberry, strawberry and a delicate hint of peach lead on the nose. The palate is light and harmonious, balancing fruit sweetness with freshness, and the finish carries fresh, exotic spice.
