This is a ten-year-old Bowmore from Islay, bottled by the independent bottler Douglas Laing in its Old Particular series. It is a single cask whisky matured in a refill oak cask and bottled at 48.4%, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring.
Peat smoke and salty Islay influences are joined by fresh fruit, soft sweetness and light spice.
The nose has sea air, gentle peat smoke, seaweed, toasted bread and orange marmalade, with hints of coffee, tea and mild spices. The palate is rich and lightly smoky, with toasted bread, soft fudge and a touch of fruit. The finish is lasting, with soft smoke, light sweetness and maritime notes.
