Douglas Laing Timorous Beastie 10 Year Old (70cl, 46.8%)

This is a 10 year old Highland blended malt from Douglas Laing, bottled at 46.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is Release #1 of Timorous Beastie, named after the shy field mouse in Robert Burns's poetry. It is a blend of Highland single malts, bottled without chill filtration or added colouring. The nose is honeyed and warm, with malted barley, sugared citrus and a soft floral touch. The palate is creamy and textured, with vanilla fudge, baking spice and a little dried apricot. The finish is lingering, with oak and barley fading gently alongside ginger and nutmeg.
