Douglas Laing Timorous Beastie (4.5L, 46.8%)

Timorous Beastie is a Highland blended malt Scotch whisky from Douglas Laing, here in a 4.5 litre bottle at 46.8%. It is made from a blend of Highland single malts, bottled at natural colour and without chill filtration. The name comes from Robert Burns' poem To a Mouse, in which the 'wee, sleekit' mouse is addressed. The nose is honeyed malt, vanilla, sweet spices and gentle oak. The palate is smooth and rich, with warming spice, buttery toffee, barley sweetness and subtle fruit. The finish is long, soft and warming, with honey, spice and light oak.
