Dumbarton Rock Blended Malt

Dumbarton Rock is a blended malt made from just five different single malts. It is named after the volcanic basalt rock at Dumbarton, which has over the centuries been a safe haven for notable guests, among them Sir William Wallace, King David II and Mary, Queen of Scots. The village is also home to Vick and Kenny Macdonald, founders of the independent bottler Dràm Mòr. The nose is fine, with freshly baked cookies and honey that move towards pear drops, vanilla, chocolate and fudge, wrapped in soft oak and sweet spices. The palate is fresh, soft and gently sweet, with honeyed apples and pears, raisins and sultanas, and vanilla fudge and butterscotch. The finish brings light vanilla, a cereal note and a tingle of white pepper, cinnamon and ginger.
