Early Times Kentucky Whiskey is a 40% ABV American whiskey in a 1 litre bottle, made at the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown. It is aged for a minimum of three years in previously used American oak barrels rather than the new charred oak that bourbon requires, which is why it is labelled Kentucky whiskey and not bourbon. The mashbill is 79% corn, 11% rye and 10% malted barley.
Caramel and vanilla lead the nose, with gentle oak and cinnamon. The palate is sweet and corn-led, with dry oak, rye spice and a roasted peanut note. The finish is medium, with soft oak, caramel and warm spice.
