This is a 12 year old Edradour named Caledonia, a single malt in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It was selected by songwriter Douglas Maclean and takes its name from his song of the same title. The whisky was distilled in 1997 and matured in an Oloroso sherry cask.
The nose is sweet, creamy and honeyed, with Manuka honey, dried fig and date, soft sherry and a little oak. The palate is full and rich, with berry fruits, honey and butter on granary toast, then more sherry, caramel and toasted almond. The finish is spicy and dry, with a dusting of cocoa.
