Edradour Caledonia 12 Year Old is a single malt bottled at 46% ABV from an Oloroso cask from 1997. The songwriter Dougie MacLean chose the cask as part of Scotland's homecoming celebrations and named the whisky after his best-known song, Caledonia. It is the first running series from Edradour, a distillery founded in 1825 and known as the smallest in Scotland.
The nose is sultanas and figs balanced with honey. The palate brings liquid Christmas cake, toasted almonds and a hint of orange spice, with a syrupy texture. The finish is gently warming, spicy and dry.
