Akashi Red is a blended Japanese whisky and the standard bottle from the White Oak distillery of Eigashima. Eigashima was founded in 1888 by Eigashima Shuzo to make sake. It obtained a licence to produce whisky in 1919 and began whisky production soon afterwards, and it came through the whisky boom of the 1970s and 1980s intact.
