Eigashima – White Oak Akashi (50cl, 40%)

Eigashima White Oak Akashi is a Japanese blend of malt and grain whiskies, bottled at 40% ABV in a 50cl bottle. It comes from Eigashima Shuzo in Hyogo, a company with roots in sake and shochu production going back to 1888, which was established in 1984 as White Oak Distillery. Floral malt aromas lead to a clean palate with a little dryness, and the whisky is described as working both neat and in a highball. The nose is floral with subtle citrus and gentle grain sweetness. The palate is smooth and light, with citrus, creamy grain and a subtle saline note, and the finish is short and clean, with citrus peel, white pepper and dryness.
