Elements of Islay Beach Bonfire (6cl, 54.5%)

Beach Bonfire is a limited edition blended malt from Elixir Distillers, made from Islay whisky and bottled at 54.5% ABV. It was matured in new oak, refill bourbon and sherry casks. The nose is typically described as showing new oak, butterscotch and wood varnish, then smoke from dried kelp and driftwood, with medicinal, saline and chalky notes. Water brings out damp tweed, beach sand and pebbles. The palate opens very salty, followed by citron liqueur, limoncello and fudge. With water come lemon juice, rhubarb, walnut cake and a little sherry-style wine. The finish is long and warming, with salted butter caramel, walnuts and a salty, spicy peanut butter note.
