This is the eighth limited edition of Elements of Islay from Elixir Distillers, a Bowmore single malt marked with the symbol Bw. It is a small batch bottled at 51.2% in a 50cl bottle.
The whisky is a vatting of spirit from 2001 and 2003, aged for 16 to 18 years in ex-bourbon barrels and sherry butts.
The nose is fruity and smoky, with citrus zest, tropical fruit, smoked fish, charcoal and baked lemons. The palate is rich and creamy, with grapefruit, lemon and salted chocolate alongside dry smoke. The finish is long and smooth, with chocolate and smoke lingering.
