A single malt Bowmore bottled as Bw8 by Elements of Islay, at 51.2% in a 50cl bottle. It is a vatting of whiskies distilled between 2001 and 2003, aged for 16 to 18 years in ex-bourbon barrels and ex-sherry butts. The release was 1320 bottles.
The nose brings grapefruit with brown sugar, a hint of charcoal smoke and baked lemons, developing into under-ripe mango. The palate recalls old-fashioned chocolate limes, with citrus and salt leading to papaya and kiwi. The finish is dry and herby, with kiln smoke lingering.
