This is a small batch Kentucky straight bourbon from Elijah Craig, finished with toasted maple. It was released as a limited edition to mark the 2025 Ryder Cup and is bottled at 47% in a 70cl bottle. The Elijah Craig name goes back to a Baptist preacher and distiller who, in 1789, became the first to age whiskey in new charred oak barrels. The brand has built close ties with golf, and Ryder Cup Team Europe's Bob MacIntyre is again an ambassador. The tasting notes mention maple syrup and apple pie on the nose. The palate brings rich maple sweetness, candied apples and burnt caramel, and the finish is soft and warm with chocolate, cocoa and a peppery note at the end.
