ElsBurn Rivesaltes Casks Batch 001 2023 (46%)

ElsBurn Rivesaltes Casks is a limited single malt from Hercynian Distilling, a family-run distillery in Germany's Harz region. This is Batch 001, bottled at 46% ABV. The whisky matured entirely in casks that previously held Rivesaltes, a French vin doux naturel from the Pyrenees. Fermentation of such wines is halted by adding spirit, which preserves their residual sweetness. The cask is associated with notes of honey, dried fruit and nougat in the whisky.
