This is Chapter 3 of the Fable Whisky series, titled Moon, an 11-year-old single malt distilled at Dailuaine in Speyside. Fable is an independent bottler and brand created in 2020. The whisky is bottled at 59.4%.
The nose is ripe pear and honeydew melon with fine oak, ripened strawberries, white grapes and a herb garden note. Mango and pear lead the palate, followed by oak, in a very oily mouthfeel with a little forest honey and candle wax over green fruit. The finish brings sweet red apples, honey, a little wax, cereal and vanilla, with a sour, grapefruit-like bitterness and light pepper.
