Fable Whisky Chapter 6 "Crows" Blair Athol 10 Year Old (60.9%)

This is Chapter 6, "Crows", from Fable Whisky: a 10 year old Blair Athol single malt bottled at a cask strength of 60.9%. Blair Athol was historically tied to Bell's blended Scotch, where it gave a rich, fruity backbone. When Fable Whisky chooses Blair Athol casks, it looks for red apples, orange peel and liquorice. The nose brings grass and flowers with peach, orange juice and a touch of mint. Toasted pepper cake, orange peel, honey and cinnamon lead the palate, and the finish is caramelised lemon, vanilla and white pepper with oak. A few drops of water bring out creamy vanilla fudge and baking spices.
