This Fettercairn is a ten-year-old Highland single malt, selected by the independent bottler Claxton's for its Exploration Series. It was distilled on 15 June 2015 and matured in a fresh tawny port hogshead, which gives it a warm, ochre colour.
The nose is tropical, with pineapple and papaya and a little citrus. On the palate the influence of the port is full: sweet strawberries and raisins with a mild spice.
