Fettercairn 12 Year Old is an unpeated Highland single malt, matured for twelve years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It is made in the foothills of the Cairngorms, where a copper cooling ring runs mountain water over the outside of the stills. This increases reflux and helps produce a lighter, fruit-focused spirit.
The nose is vanilla and ripe pear with soft baking spice and delicate malt. On the palate, nectarine and tropical fruit meet roasted coffee, clove and ginger. The finish is sweet and lingering, with sultanas, black toffee and gentle oak.
