Fettercairn – 12 Years (70cl, 40%)

This is a 12 year old single malt from Fettercairn, a Highland distillery founded in 1824. Bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle, it has been offered since 2018 and was the first age-stated release in the distillery's core range after a long run of no-age-statement bottlings. It was matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks of American white oak. The nose is vanilla and pear with a light spiciness. On the palate come nectarine, tropical fruit, caramel, clove and ginger, with a hint of roasted coffee. The finish brings sultanas and black toffee.
