Fettercairn 16 Year Old Fourth Release 2023 is the fourth annual edition of this Highland single malt. It brings together whisky from first fill ex-port pipes and parcels matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks. It was bottled in 2023 at 46.4% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The distillery's tropical, fruity house style is still recognisable in this release.
On the nose, tropical fruit and berries meet strong cocoa and sugared almonds, with floral notes. Blackberries and raspberries join sweet vanilla and caramel on the palate. The long finish brings plum, freshly baked ginger cake and cherries, with aged oak spice.
