Fettercairn 16 Year Old Third Release 2022 is the third annual edition of a limited series that began in 2020, bottled at 46.4% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The whisky matured first in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, then in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and was finished in ex-bourbon barrels. Master Whisky Maker Gregg Glass selected the casks.
The nose brings dried exotic fruits and figs in light syrup, with grapefruit and ripe oak. On the palate sweet raisins and ripe guava meet baking spices and cocoa, with vanilla growing stronger. The finish holds juicy ginger cake, passion fruit and baked apple, with a touch of roasted coffee.
