This is an 18-year-old single malt distilled in 2008 at Fettercairn Distillery, in the village of Fettercairn at the foot of the Cairngorm mountains in Aberdeenshire. Thompson Bros. bottled it. It was matured in a refill hogshead, a cask that has held Scotch before, so the wood's influence is gentle and the fruity, malty distillery character comes through. It is bottled at a natural cask strength of 54.2% ABV, with natural colour and no chill filtration. Thompson Bros. describe the nose as fresh, malty and fragrant, opening into a broad, textured palate that is noticeably fuller in body than the nose suggests.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
