Fettercairn – 22 Years Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 47%)

This is a 22-year-old single malt from Fettercairn, a Highland distillery in Aberdeenshire. It is bottled at 47% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky spent all 22 years in first-fill American ex-bourbon casks. It shows a tropical character that the distillery links to its copper cooling ring method of distillation. The tasting notes list bananas, citrus fruit and plums with raisins, figs and gingerbread on the nose. The palate has spiced pears, caramelised oranges and coffee, balanced by liquorice. The finish is medium in length, with cherries, plums and syrup.
