Fettercairn 28 Year Old is a Highland single malt, bottled by the distillery at 42% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition from owners Whyte & Mackay, matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks.
The character is fruity, nutty and caramel-led, set on spice and sturdy oak, and the colour is deep, shimmering gold.
The palate opens with pineapple and melon, moving to treacle and banana, with warm ginger and liquorice. The finish brings citrus peel and black pepper, walnuts, vanilla and spice, with coffee, apricot and a touch of sweet balsamic.
